| West-Panon Regional Development Company |
 West Pannon Regional Development Company was founded by the state owned Hungarian Development Bank Private Limited Company in 1997. The headquarters of the Company is in Szombathely, it has an internationally experienced staff of 5 people. The area of its operation covers the Western Transdanubian region of Hungary.
The main spheres of activity of the Company include the financing of SMEs in the Western Transdanubian region by capital investment, as well as advising on business opportunities and the drawing up of project proposals for regional development. The target group of this latter activity is composed of enterprises, local governments and small region associations operating in Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas and Zala counties. In addition to this, the Company mediates various funds available by application and other funds (mainly originating from the Regional Development Holding group or other funds subsidized by the State), further, prepares development projects in the region and takes part in their implementation. The investment activities of the Company are focused on enterprises that have an appropriate business activity record and had carried on their business with success before West Pannon's involvement as an owner or financing partner. In addition to this, in order to exploit EU funds as fully as possible, West Pannon also participates as a co-owner in project companies having a strong potential for growth. Since its foundation the Company has invested capital in 32 enterprises. The success of investment activities is also indicated by the fact that companies belonging to the portfolio have implemented investments in a value of over 500 million forints with the assistance of the Company. The Company's involvement in economy development can best be observed in the development of a network for cooperation between SMEs and in the promotion of the organization of clusters. West Pannon currently participates in the development of 5 clusters in its region: automotive, wood and furniture, mechatronics, informatics and alternative energy industries. The Company provides advise and financing for SMEs in the clusters, participates in technology transfer, develops industrial sites and incubators for the members. West Pannon received a major capital increase of appr. 1.1 million euro (so currently its capital is around 5 million euro) in the 2nd quarter of 2009. Therefore the Company has a strong financial position and is capable to pre-finance its project activities.
