The International Congress CAR2011
From 2 to 4 November 2011 took place in Pitesti under the organization of SIAR (Society of Automotive Engineers of Romania) and University of Pitesti, the 10th edition of the International Congress of Automotive CAR 2011.


Supported by leading sponsors such as Renault Technologie Roumanie Dacia Pitesti, AVL, ACAROM (Association of Automotive Manufacturers of Romania) and under the patronage of FISITA (International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies) and EAEC (European Cooperation Automotive Engineers), the congress added to the traditional Automotive theme the one related to the interaction between cars and the environment.

This year edition of CAR2011 Congress was as in previous editions an opportunity for participants to gain a professional view of current trends in the automotive industry, to establish links with potential customers, suppliers, distributors, researchers and identify future actions to develop this industry in Romania and abroad.

CAR 2011 Congress has provided a wide range of activities grouped in a plenary session, 25 oral sessions grouped on various topics, 6 forums for debating hot topics in automotive, poster sessions and an exhibition, hosted by Hotel Ramada of Pitesti and University of Pitesti in the building of Faculty of Mechanics and Technology.

Two AUTOCLUSTERS project representatives from Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" of Iasi, Assoc.Prof. Cristian-Gyozo Haba and Prof. Dorin Lucache attended the CAR 2011 Congress. They presented in the Multidisciplinary oral session the results of the pilot project SEEE-Mobility. The presentation entitled „Actual Trends Towards Electromobility in the South Eastern Europe” enjoyed a real interest among the audience and other presenters given the fact that all work presentation in this session were on issues relating to hybrid and electric cars.

The two members of the project have also participated in two of the organized thematic forums. Mr. Haba attended the forum "Effective Tripartite Collaboration - The Automotive Industry, Governments and Academia Working Towards a Better Educational Experience" where during the discussions presented the example of good practice developed within the project AUTOCLUSTERS in the frame of the  pilot project AUTOMOTIVENETS during the international competition for PhD students showing interests in automotive field. He made reference on how the evaluation of the PhD students involved specialists in the automotive industry and the perspective of future editions with possibility to provide internships in  host companies in the field for the winners of the competition.

Mr. Lucache participated in the forum "Future of Automotive Propulsion Systems" where during the discussions he was able to further disseminate the results of the pilot project SEEE-Mobility and also attend the launch by a team of researchers from the University of Pitesti, Romania, of the first hybrid car in Romania.
