Hydraulics & Oneumatics Research National Institute (IHP) is a research, design and production unit in the field of hydraulics and pneumatics is a subsidiary of the National Institute of Research & Development for Optoelectronics - INOE 2000.
The institute, holding over 55 years of experience in its activity field, is structured on research-development divisions, research and test laboratories as well as one micro manufacturing and service base. IHP personnel are highly qualified manpower, while its divisions hold an hydraulic and pneumatic adequate endowment consisting of cutting-edge devices, electronic equipment and automatic adjustment and control systems, data acquisition systems.

INCDMTM is an important supplier of mechatronic control systems integrated in production lines from Dacia Renault Romania. A large class of parts, subassemblies and assemblies, same as camshaft, crankshafts, carcasses, shafts and gear wheels, motors, are controlled on these equipments. Different physical sizes, like lengths (dimensions, shape and position errors), pressure, flow, vacuum, temperature, forces and moments are measured, displayed and selected (sorted).

Role of the centre: research activities concerning development and design of special type electrical machines for practical applications such as wind generating, automotive electric equipment (electric motors, alternators, integrated starter-alternators), variable speed electric drives. Main activities: elaboration of technical documentation for grants; experimental tests of low power electric machines (up to 2 kW), study and simulation of magnetic field using FEM-based software. Functionality: the activity goes on the basis of order forms and various collaborations Equipment: the experimental tests go on modern test benches provided with torque, speed, current and voltage transducers; the experimental data are acquired with data acquisition cards and processed in LABView environment, the simulation and magnetic field analysis use FLUX2D software package. Opportunity for doing business and cooperation in R&D: the research centre is under the tutelage (from financial viewpoint) of a special department of the university.

7. Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR)

In 2006, Renault set up Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR). This regional engineering center works primarily on the development of Logan. With bases at three sites – Bucharest, Pitesti and Titu – RTR expects to have a workforce of 3,000 at end-2009. It will also gain a test center, currently under construction in Titu. The center will have nine types of track with a total length of 30 km and around one hundred test benches designed to test the resistance of vehicles and spare parts in cold, heat and rain.

In 2007, the Group also created a styling center to design the Logan vehicles of the future. The opening of Renault Design Central Europe (RDCE) has strategic importance for the Group, given that growth is stronger in regions outside western Europe. In Romania, the Continental Automotive Group is represented by all three automotive divisions: Powertrain, Interior and Chassis & Safety, in three locations: Timisoara, Sibiu and Iasi. After the acquisition of Siemens VDO in the year 2007, the automotive units of Siemens VDO in Timisoara, a R&D centre, a plant for electronic control units and the R&D centre in Iasi were added to the R&D centre and to the plant in Sibiu.

INCDIE ICPE – CA has been founded in April 2001 by joining of some qualified research groups and laboratories with an excellence more than 50 years. This new institute, with a high scientific and professional reputation, recognized on both national and international level, having an experience over 50 years, carrying out the research, development, production and service activities, especially in the field of electric engineering technologies and materials, and other related fields of activity. INCDIE ICPE-CA is characterized by attention given to the basic and applied research and development, with an accent put on research and materials characterization which is the engine of a durable development of society. The main activities are: basic and applied research in the field of electrical engineering; engineering, sample testing, measurements, expertise on laboratory, on pilot stations and on field expert’s findings; technological development on processing of industrial wastes and ecological rehabilitation; elaboration of national technical and economical norms regarding the assurance of the basic requirements in the field of electrical engineering; building of strategies, technical assistance and consulting in the field of electrical engineering; documentation and training in the field of electrical engineering.

Silicon Service was conceived as an “ASIC design house”. At the time, it was a true “pioneer” when it came to the introduction and application of these technologies in Romania. Over the time, it trained more than 200 specialists in full flow Analog and Digital IC Design, in ASIC Design Verification, in EDA SW design and programming and in embedded systems. Another activity of the company consists in the maintenance of a R&D nucleus which develops industrial applications with embedded systems, such as: Position and Movement Sensor (it was awarded the gold medal at the 2006 Exhibition from Brussels), Radio module for water meters, Electronic intelligent flow meter, Returnless Fuel Delivery Module, Motor control (ACIM and BLDC).

In acknowledgment of the activity of its collaborators and R&D activities, Silicon Service was accredited as a research&development unit according to Decision no. 9882/06.28.2010 by the National Authority for Scientific Research of Romania.
