provide concreat tools for the platform, such as chat, wikis, forum, SaaS document management system to foster the bottom-up participation in the to innovation activities by enabling better visibility for individual projects and reach an audience that has the expertise that otherwise individual participant is missing in order to succeed.
As result of WP3, WP4, WP6 and WP7 implementation we have gathered resourses for exchange of best practices, events, small projects and FP7 projects development, network establishment and enlargement which we would like to share with other players outside the consortium and further on link to the
European Alliance for innovation SIB on Automotive Transportation. A possible way to do is to use web 2.0 tools such as the suggested platform which will be linked to the Transportation SIB portal of the EAI.
Problem or challenge to be addressed The suggested platform is a web 2.0 -based tool to enhance networking, sharing knowledge and competences, partner search, projects promotion and dissemination of their results, partners‘ achievements; sharing resources, announcing events and abstracts from recent publications; anouncing funding opportunities; presenting the excellence of the inoovation in the automotive sector in
SEE. The automotive transportation portal sets let the community exchange/access information and benefit from numerous services.The other challenge is bringing students on board for presenting their creative ideas and aknowleging their success through awards.
Objectives of the project
We target Researchers, engineers, students, industrial partners, government delegates and all relevant stakeholders from SEE area in order to invite them to discuss on-line and exchange ideas about the future and viability of the transportation and automotive industry domain.
We promote the achievements of young researchers through the on-line students competition and virtual exhibition of the selected students innovative projects.
Partners will disseminate the results of their EU and national projects and link them to possible implementations in industry or for better shaping of regioanal economic and transport policies ;
- The platform links AUTOCLUSTERS project, all partners to the experts group in transportation of the European Alliance for Innovation to give a pan-European outreach and larger area for dissemination.
Methodological approachMethodological approach is based on few simple steps: developing specification for the platform, testing and launcing, info day/press conference to inform about the platform during partners meeting in Trento, networking and resources sharing, on-line students competition and further Dissemination of results and iawareness raising activities.
4 project partners from 2 SEE countries ( Slovakia and Italy) will participate in the implementation of project activities. However, the modern tools allows broader coverage and better networking.
Expected resultsThe network of AUTOCLUSTERS partners enlarge, the resources that all partners have will be shared and thus they will be better utilized; a pan-European outreach andgreater impact of the results will be achieved.Better involvement of SEE students to provide innovative solutions and access to PhD programmes related to safe and sustainable transports.
Results- increased awareness about the potential of SEE area researchers and companies in the field of automotive sector; Partnerships for FP7 proposals due to the networking and experience sharing.
Target groupsWe will target Researchers, engineers, students, industrial partners, government delegates and all relevant stakeholders from SEE area in order to invite them to discuss on-line and exchange ideas about the future and viability of the transportation and automotive industry domain.
Innovative characterModern web 2.0 technologies will provide concreat tools for the platform, such as chat, wikis, forum, SaaS document management system to foster the bottom-up participation in the to innovation activities by enabling better visibility for individual projects and reach an audience that has the expertise that otherwise individual participant is missing in order to succeed. The topics presented at the portal will be relevant to the following areas:
Low Carbon economy: Automotive industry aspect
- Innovation as a key competitiveness factor
- Investment in employees' skill enhancement
- Continuing improvements in productivity
- Effective change management
- ergonomy
- new materials
- ITS
European strategy on clean and energy efficient vehicles (EC document, 2010); R&D Priorities for the Greening of Vehicles and Road Transport (EUCAR document, 2009); European Green Cars Initiative - Towards an electric future? (EC document, DG for Research, 2010)
A minimum involvement of external experts is needed in order to implement the tasks, based on the partners requests for such. The success of the platform will be baseed on the volunteers involvement and correct and professional guidence by the participating partners.
Situation after implementation of the project: (Sustainability of the project after its implementation – connection with FP7 proposals)After the project due to connection between partners and awarded students we expect:
1. Involving young researchers into industry problems solving and support to youth innovation and / or entrepreneurship;
2. Further facilitation of the exchange of ideas and forming partnerships for creating proposals for FP7
3. Better knowledge about the available expertise and innovation trends in SEE area related to automotive industry and better knowledge about finished and running projects which will lead to avoiding duplication of efforts and better utilization of the available project outcomes.
4. The sustainability will be guaranteed via linking the portal to the EAI platform and Transportation SIB, adding further content from allover Europe and thus enlarging the area of project impact and fromoting the AUTOCLUSTERS partners on European level.
Our activities has connection to preparing 3 main points: 1. Preparation of FP7 proposals, 2. Connection to national and regional with inititives for cooperation and development of programs for sustainable mobility; 3. Enlarging our network and its geographycal coverage. It could help creating new types of cooperation, support of innovation activities, esp.in terms of supporting students creativity, networking and other.
Justification of contribution to the overall objective of small-projects in Autoclusters project: Explanation of on-line students competition through small-project implementationThe main product is an innovative network that provides an opportunity for interested organizations and experts to work together within the EAI Green World, which includes transportation problems. Our interest is to promote the achievements of young scientists, the students, contests and establish a model for further support and development through the carrier's price and on-line presentation of the winning projects, with emphasis on the innovative character of projects to be further developed and implemented in 7 RP proposals.
