The URL of the Web 2.0 Platform is http://eai.eu/project/autoclusters . The tool consists in the adoption of the new EAI Web 2.0 Community Portal, with a specific and branded point of entrance and a recognized “AUTOCLUSTERS” area inside. The project platform enters the EAI portal as part of the Green World Science Innovation and Business (SIB) Council, (http://eai.eu/sib/green-world) which is “a consortium of European industry, research, government and non-governmental-organisation leaders that collaborate to share information on green technology strategies, best practices, technologies and initiatives. Green World encompasses public policy initiatives and innovations in infrastructure, industry, and commerce; focused on environmental improvements that benefit the health and economies of European countries and their citizens”. Once the Autoclusters individual partner lands on EAI Community branded AUTOCLUSTERS page, s/he will find immediately the registration box for the community.

Here the user will find a brief explanation of the project with text, logos and links to the AUTOCLUSTERS website. The user will join for free the EAI community by typing on the right side frame of the webpage. Some interesting points:
•    The Organisation field can be either empty (so everyone can insert their own affiliation) or will be automatically set only to “Autoclusters”.
•    The Interested in field will display automotive, it can be automatically selected or not.
•    The user will log into the EAI Community and he/she will join a larger network of professionals with an interest on different areas of ICT applications (see screenshot below).
•    The user will be automatically linked to the sub-community called Green World SIB, which includes colleagues interested in Green and Transportation innovations.
•    Autoclusters partners will be able to interact with the enlarged EAI Community and keep working creating discussions and sharing documents.
•    The Autoclusters partners will have to identify their content with the tag “Autoclusters” in order to maintain a common linked record of the many activities.


Once the Autoclusters partner has registered into the Portal, he/she will be able to
•    check the „my board“ page, with direct getaway to activities, discussions, messages, contacts, related SIBs, and suggestions/news from the EAI;
•    update the “profile” also by importing the personal infos from LinkedIn;
• 
search for “my favorites”, “discussions”, “contacts”; “messages”.

What the EAI Community Portal offer to the AUTOMOTIVENETS community is a Social Networking tool where to manage the contacts with the transportation and many others innovation communities. The functionalities offered are 1-1 messaging, news publication, group discussions, uploading of  files, therefore all the basic tools that improve the personal possibilities to discuss and develop project opportunities and publish relevant outcomes.
Support is present with F.A.Q.s, Glossary , and „Contact us“ form.

The innovative character of the solution.

The main objective of this project was to create a sustainable portal, a solution working also after the end of the project. As we all know projects portals are usually not sustainable because:
I.    no resources are allocated after the end of the specific project;
II.    users are interested only in content creation while the structure maintenance is not of normal interest;
III.    the structure of the portal is usually not user friendly enough to incentive the proper adoption of the tool.
By leaving the technical creation and structure maintenance within the E.A.I., and therefore by giving to  E.A.I. what is of its interest (the possibility to expand the innovation network),  this solution allow us:
1)    to use a new generation web 2.0 portal with all the tools for discussion and project creation;
2)    to have a specific AUTOCLUSTERS tool, with specific point of entrance and internal area;
3)    to enable Project Partners using the tool as content creators (following our own interest!);
4)    to leave to EAI colleagues the management and sustainability of the portal structure, as it is not our own interest;
5)    to connect our project network to a wider network made of experts in many innovation fields.
